Diet sites don’t normally get a mention in talk of web2.0 businesses – but these are big businesses and I reckon this site rockshttp://www.traineo.com/

Products or Services that Sell themselves

I often get asked for examples of brilliant ‘viral marketing’. When answering this, I often find myself talking about the viral nature of the product and not some cheeky bit of creative – it really is more about how the product is structured or configured to sell itself.

As Hugh MacLeod says on his blog, Gapping Void. ‘Buying space in someone else’s brain is far harder than buying space in someone else’s media’

  • Nike & iPod – the training trainers
  • Amazon UK Launch by randomly including £10 notes in early orders to help spread the word – I don’t even know if this is true or internet folklore but love this
  • more to come…
